Darren
Kennedy’s 2013 World Series of Poker Staking Package
Updated July 8, 2013
I am intending to spend nearly the
entire WSOP in Vegas this summer. I have rented a condo with two friends Brant Taylor
and Jason Nadeau and will be playing a tonne of tournaments this year. The
schedule for WSOP can be found on WSOP.com.
I have put together a staking package and the details are below. I expect to
play $27,000 worth of buy-ins this year.
My profiles are here:
I will be updating my twitter
account at DarrenDieHard
during the tournaments likely every hour or so and my facebook
account at least twice a day.
UPDATE:
Package Completed as of July 8th
The package is now complete.
I decided against playing the Main
Event as I was not doing as well in tournaments and cash games as I had hoped.
I did not risk both my and the investors money on this tournament.
I thank all of you for having faith
in my skills to play although I did not make any money for you on your
investment I am at least able to return 77% of it. Therefore the money to be
returned to investors is calculated as below (the calculation is for a single
percentage):
Cost of 1%: $300
Buyins: $12,500
Cashes: $7,218
Unused Buyins:
$14,500
Total Buyins
Invested in: $27,000
Money returned for unused buyins: $14,500 / $27,000 * $300 = $161
Money returned from cashes: $7,218 *
1% = $72
Money returned per 1% invested =
$161 + $72 = $233
I will be in contact with each of
you shortly to work out transfer of monies from the package.
Thank You, Darren

Total Buy-ins $24,722
I intend to play at least $27,000
worth of the above tournaments. Therefore I will sell a package that covers the
first $27,000 worth of buy-ins that I play at the 2013 World Series of Poker.
How this works is that I will choose which events I will play from the list
above based on how I feel that day, how well I’ve been playing that week, what
the turnout looks like and obviously whether or not I made a Day 2 of a prior
event. I am less likely to play the $2500 and $3000 events.
For each tournament I decide to play
of the ones listed above I will take a picture of the receipt and tweet out
that I am playing said event. I will also get someone to take a picture of me
at the table with my chip stack and table number. This second step will be to
avoid any question of whether or not I actually played that event. There is a
website wsopdb.com that lists entrants from each event so there is obviously
that way to corroborate it as well. Each evening or morning I will update this
page with tournament(s) that I played for the package.
Note that if the tournament is not
listed above even if it is part of the WSOP and I decide to play it, it will
not count as part of the package. To count as part of the package:
1)
It must be on the list above
2)
I must have tweeted that I was
playing the event, with a picture of the receipt prior to starting the
tournament.
3)
I must not have already played
$27,000 worth of buy-ins prior to entering that tournament.
Aggregate Total Buy-ins for this
package: $27,000
Markup is 11.111% for all events.
Total cost of package: $30,000
Amount for sale (30%): $9,000
I promise to cover your markup. You
will not find this kind of deal anywhere else. If I do not cash enough to cover the markup I will pay full markup back
to you out of my own pocket.
This means that you are guaranteed not to lose your markup on this package.
Markup is really only about paying out percentages and not an extra cost to the
investor in this case.
Cost
of Shares:
0.25% = $75
0.50% = $150
1.00% = $300
2.00% = $600
5.00% = $1500
I will sell in pieces as small as
0.25% ($75). If I do not play enough events to cover $27,000 in buy-ins I
will refund the buy-ins plus markup to the package for the un-played buy-in
amount.
I am planning to sell up to 30% of
my entire action on a first come, first serve basis. All investors will have
their name and percent purchased listed on this site to guarantee there has
been no overselling of my action. If you bought a percentage and do not see
your name listed at the top of this page please contact me and inform me so I
can get it up there.
You can pay in the following ways:
1.
Cash in person in Las Vegas,
Vancouver or Seattle.
2.
Deposit cash into my Canadian Royal Bank
account directly or via email tranfser.
3.
Transfer money into my United States
Bank of America account directly or via email transfer.
Example
1:
You buy 5% at $1500 and I play only
$18,000 in buy-ins and cash for $50,000. I will owe you one-third back or $500
for un-played buy-ins plus 5% of $50,000 or $2500 for cashes for a total of
$3000.
Example
2:
You buy 2% at $600 and I play
$27,000 in buy-ins and don’t cash at all. I will return your markup of $60 to
you from my own pocket.
Example
3:
You buy 1% at $300 and I play
$27,000 in buy-ins cashing for $60,000. You will receive $600 from me.
Example
4:
You buy 5% at $1500 and I play only
$18,000 in buy-ins and don’t cash. I will owe you one-third back or $500 for
un-played buy-ins plus $100 to return the markup on the $1000 that was in play
since I guaranteed to cash for at least the markup for a total of $600
returned.
I will pay out winnings in mid-July
after concluding my Main Event. If I am fortunate enough to make the Final
table of the Main Event, I will pay out shares of everything I have won up to
the Main Event in mid-July and the remainder after conclusion of the Main Event
Final Table in November.
It is very possible I may play more
events outside of what is shown here plus Venetian Deepstacks
and Rio Dailies. Any and all tournaments I play not listed here will NOT be
part of the package I am selling and investors will not be able to claim any
part of those winnings. In the event that I wear any patches for
advertising/sponsorship money or obtain money or other items of value by
playing in the WSOP such as a bonus entry into another tournament, the
investors will not be able to claim any of those monies either. In short,
investors only get a percentage of the prize pool awarded for the tournament
played. In the event that I reach a final table and a deal is made, the amount
I get from the deal will be the amount I pay to investors.
Please contact me if you are
interested.
