March 4,
2023, Andy Goosen wins Event #10, Johnny Dai takes 10,000 points and wins the
guaranteed seat for finishing on top of league
In a field
of 105 players Andy Goosen took it down outlasting Nathan Owen to win. Marcello
Souza was third followed by Eric Aranasa in 4th. But in the battle
for league points leader and the guaranteed minimum prize of $1300 CAD, Johhny
Dai passed leader Jesse Forster by taking home 10,000 points when he finished
in 5th place.
In the next
couple days I will draw the seats for the Final and post up here. Please note
the Final starts at 6pm and not the usual 7pm.
January
30, 2023, Chris McDonell wins over Dave Collier in 106 Entry Event #7
In a
massive field of 106 entries which saw some people having to wait to be seated
it was Chris McDonell who would ultimately finish on top and take down the
first place prize. Dave Collier finished second to retake the DHPI lead which
Jesse Forster had just taken over in the previous tourneys.
We also had
an amazing $3,000 last longer going with 30 people fighting for some big side
prizes. It was chopped 4 ways with $900 to Harry and $700 each to Dennis, Paul
A and Graham.

November
10, 2022, All Time Stats and Die Hard Poker Index Updated
Just an
update to let you know I finally got around to updating the All Time Leaders
page and Die Hard Poker Index. Dave Collier remains in first in
the DHPI, but lots of movement in the top 20 makes it an interesting update including
Johnny Poker moving into the #2 spot. See links above on the right.
October
21, Michelle Owen Beats Dave Collier for 3rd Die Hard Title
Huge
turnout with 91 buyins. Michelle Owen outlasted us all but I was pretty happy
to finish 3rd place myself. It is now a long break before our next
event, but then we have the double header on back to back nights January 6th
and 7th.
October
21, Georg Jancev beats G-Man Graham Spence to take Event #3
Great night
of poker saw some big pots all night. The bad luck hand of the night appeared
to be pocket Kings as time after time after time people lost big hands holding
the cowboys, including to a runner runner straight, to runner runner flush and
to 3 outer after 3 outer. Not the hand to hold last night. The final table saw
some notable occurrences as we had Johnny and Tosca make the final table
together, Paul Anaka make his third consecutive final table and a great 3 way
battle for the win as eventually Georg and Graham dispatched Johnny to get
headsup. The headsup battel didn’t last long and Georg took home the 10,000
points and $2,000. Well play guys.
October
8, Jesse Forster beats Dan Molatore in Event #2
Jesse
Forster won the thanksgiving version of Die Hard after a 3 way chop of the
money between Jesse, Dan Molatore and Abe Leiren. Abe’s 3rd place
finish makes it two top 3’s in a row after being runner up in the first event
this year. Paul Anaka and Dave Sims also have back to back final tables this
year. All Standings are updated. Sorry for the delay.
September
16, Kelly Lange wins Event #1 holding off Abe Leiren who finished Second
The first
event drew 89 entries and welcomed all back to the felts. Paul Anaka took 3rd
and Dave Sims took 4th. Interestingly both Jamie Hucul and Raj
Parmar busted on the same hand while starting with the same chipstack to
co-finish 5th/6th.
September
16, Event #1 Tonight
Standings
page has been updated. Its game day!!
September
14, Event #1 Starting on Friday
Looking
forward to kicking off the new season this Friday. If you are dropping in as
non-league member please email me to let me know. All league members must be
paid up to $650 CAD (or $500 USD) by Event #1.
See you all
for some poker in two days time.
August
21, Diehard League Starting Up Again!!
We are
coming back at Guildford again. Unfortunately we are having trouble getting
decent dates so at this point we are taking what they will give us to make sure
we get through the season. Next year, if the date selection remains sketchy
then we may have to once again look for another venue. For now we are a go.
There are back to back nights in January and February which we will try and
spread out but for now that is all we have. Potentially playing on a Sunday
with an earlier start time might be an option.
As of right
now I need to start seeing an interest list. We will go with the same format as
always with 10 events being run between September and April.
Buyin for
each tourney will be $100 and league fees for the season are going to be $650
Canadian (instead of previous years $500USD. All players need to pay the league
fees prior to event #1. I will convert all of the league fees into USD after
Event #1 to hold as year-end prizes. I would prefer to take the $650 via etransfer
ahead of time if possible.
So who is
in? Send me your $650 via etransfer lock in your spot at
darrenkennedydk@gmail.com.
I will keep
track of who has let me know they are returning and who has paid below and
eventually on the standings page that will be created.
Who’s playing this year???? Email me or text me if you are in. If your name isn’t here, then I don’t know. Returning players get priority over newcomers.
Event 1 only: Mike Martin
Updated: Sep 13, 2022. Currently 73 confirmed and 3 haven’t heard
